We had the pleasure of discussing female boxing with one of today's biggest competitors, Stacey 'stayLo' Reile, IBF Featherweight Champion of the World. stayLo defends her title on November 20th in Las Vegas against Dahiana Santana, whom she defeated earlier this year for the title. RSB: What attracted you to the sport of boxing? stayLo: I was attracted to boxing because i was angry and I wanted to figure out a way that I could eat ice cream everyday. Worked like a charm !
RSB: How long did you box before going professional? stayLo: I started boxing around 1999 , and had one amateur fight before taking a year off to get my massage license. I then honed my craft in the gym until 2004 when I turned professional.
RSB: You have gone through some emotional phases during key fights, how do you stay mentally focused? stayLo: How do you know my "emotional" state? When I don't even know what mood i was in those days? Haha! Exercise and an insane work ethic helps to keep me mentally focused.
RSB: In March of this year, you were crowned the IBF Champion of the World. What was running through stayLo's mind as her hand was raised in victory? stayLo: Actually it was April 1st in the states when anointed queen of the world. In my mind I was saying, "I can't effin believe I just won the world title on the same exact day my mom passed away one year later, without a trainer in my corner! Here's the belt I promised you mom!"
RSB: On November 20th, in Las Vegas, you will be facing Dahiana Santana again. You beat Santana for the IBF crown. How have you prepared yourself for this rematch? stayLo: My secret is soon to be revealed.
RSB: What are your in-ring ambitions as the current World Champion? stayLo: I want to keep fighting until I'm 50 years old so I can be the oldest and baddest BITCH in boxing while maintaining my youthful appearance. Hahaha.
RSB: You have the support of many fans, sponsors, media outlets, and enthusiasts. Do you find intimidation from the public because you are more than just a pretty face? stayLo: I imagine I can be intimidating to some but it's unassuming that I'm a dangerous fighter because I still look feminine and sexy... and then they see my knuckles and figure it out and say to themselves " I better not mess with her".
RSB: You have been on magazines, you have been on TV, you are marketing on all of today stayLo: All I think about now is my fight in las Vegas November 20. If I told you what was next, it wouldn't be a surprise now would it?! Jay Kemp of Das Web Haus Sports has some big things in the making for us!

Two Women's bouts in Vegas (OCT 3) On the internet it is published that we have two women's bouts that will take place November 18th, in Las Vegas, Nevada. In one bout Stacey Reile vs. Dahiana Santana and in a second bout Ada Velez vs. Melinda Cooper.
